wabisabi NOW
Me, stray cats, and wabisabi
I once found magic on a rainy Dragon Boat Festival night in Beijing. After eating “zongzi” with my family, a tiny cat led me to its precious, palm-sized kitten with wide, trusting eyes. Soon, I discovered three more abandoned and vulnerable kittens. Together, we nurtured them with tender care until their playful antics filled our yard with sunshine and warmth.
Before leaving for Canada to pursue my studies, I found loving forever homes for all my rescued fur friends. Along the way, I met Grandma Jiang, a kind soul who, on a modest pension, devotes herself to caring for countless stray cats. Her dedication inspired me to embrace adulthood fully, with the belief that every act of kindness can spark a beautiful transformation in the world.
Inspired by that serendipitous encounter, I created the brand “wabisabi,” an ode to simple, natural beauty crafted by hand. Every piece, while beautifully imperfect, holds the heartbeat of a story. My work isn’t just about art—it’s a mission of kindness. With every handmade creation, I channel profits toward rescuing more stray cats, ensuring that each sale extends a lifeline of compassion to these little lives in need. This approach weaves together creativity and care, transforming everyday beauty into a catalyst for change and support.
A huge shoutout to my dear friends Bowen, the web wizard behind my site, and Lisa, the talented photographer capturing these moments of wonder. Every life deserves to be loved, and together, we can create small, beautiful changes—one handmade piece at a time.
THANK YOU ❤️ love ya'll
